Crooklyn Dogers Reunion

Chubb Rock

Jeru
Bandshell-Prospect Park
Needless to say, the show was probably one of the best I have seen in a while. The crowd was into it, Chubb Rock, Jeru, and Special Ed played with the crowd and heads danced. And it was all for free. And as for all of yous who knew about it and didn't come.................

Look But DONT Touch!

Broadway n Marcy-Brooklyn NY June 2008
This comes from them metal boxes you see outside of clinics here and there. It's biological waste that comes and gets scooped up by certified people. Apparently that was not the case for many. The situation must have gotten so bad with these boxes, that they ultimately had to print that on the box. Drugs and money in a metal box on the sidewalk? Dudes.............

Bed-Stuy, Delancy Follies, Beaches, and Billboards

Williamsburg Bridge- June 2008
Nah, this ain't turning into a graff site, but I'll will snap when I see something in the hood that catches my eyes. These two dudes caught my eye.

Coney Island! Brooklyn, NY- June 2008
Another Saturday, another day at the beach. Got a pretty regular crew that heads to the beach most Saturdays. Three dollar Coronas on the beach, fried chicken n dough, babies, the block, swimming, beats, and the sun. There's nothing better than people watching, talking shit, and hollering. Ahmen to that.

Delancy and Eldridge, New York, NY- June 08
Once again, riding my bike to head over the bridge I run into this, another accident. There are accidents on Delancy ALL the time, this one being the least severe, to the other two I already posted. Everyone slow down, and watch out for me. I'm on that every single day. Easy, easy.

Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, NY-June 2008
So while the country is all caught up in the hub bub of politics, Democrats vs Republican, Woman vs Black, some in Bed-Stuy have a whole different outlook on shit. Looks like at the end of the day, it doesn't really matter who's on top, what really matters is who's pulling the strings. It not me, or Bed-Stuy.

On Politicians, Rats, and Graff

"SARZ" Williamsburg Bridge- June 2008
Don't know who he is, but its one of the nicer things I've seen on the bridge. And its been running for a week.

Bedstuy, Brooklyn- June 08
Dead rats are a dime a dozen around the block. Twitching rats with their eyes open in broad daylight are not. This little bastard must have eaten poison and just laid there twitching. I shot video footage of it with my cellphone camera, but I am still trying to figure out how to download it onto my computer.

54 Broadway, Financial District, New York, NY
One of the few, and very few perks of having to work in the financial district at times is seeing politicians. On my lunch break I ran into Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. Not that I really care much about this guy, but full on press conferences on sidewalks are always a sight to see. For all of you who don't know, below is a description of him from the ny.gov website. If you don't know, now you know.

Andrew Cuomo was elected the 64th Attorney General of New York State on November 7, 2006. As Attorney General, Cuomo is the highest ranking law enforcement officer for the State, responsible for representing New York and its residents in legal matters. Cuomo has a long record of fighting for justice and championing government reform.

Crazy City Streets!

35th and 7rh Ave- New York, NY -June 2008
Damn, damn. On my way to the post office on 42nd and 8th, I ran into this scene. A SUV jumped the curb and slammed into pedestrians. When I got there, I saw EMS attending to a woman. You can see them around her in a few of these pictures. Needless to say, simply mayhem. A lot of onlookers, choppers in the air, and cops running all over the place. Aint that something. Walking down the street and then...BAM! Keep yer eyes open.

From the Headlines:
Later in the day, a driver apparently suffered a heart attack and drove onto the sidewalk at 35th Street and 7th Avenue, striking at least eight pedestrians, WNBC.com reported.

Fire on the Streets!

Broadway and Penn Street-Brooklyn, NY -May 2008
One afternoon looking out the street behind my house I noticed some Hasidic Jews placing a barrel full of timber in the center of the street. Hours later, the barrel was on fire and hundred male Hasidics walked around the fire till the fire died. The chanted, sang on a microphone, and hung out. Fire on the street and all of it in my backyard.

Its a Jungle Out There

Flushing, Queens, NY -June 2008
Flushing, Queens has the most beautiful little neighborhood with lawns, trees, houses, and everything else that you would expect outside of NY. It was good to smell the grass, hear birds, not cars, and take in the sun. But not all good things come in green, like this little guy. And yeah, those really are shiny green back flies in its mouth. So...how do I get back to brooklyn?

Trash Night

7th and 30th, New York, NY - June 2008
Today at work I walked in front of madison square garden and came across this funny sight. Someone had started a fire in a trash can and the boys had to come and extinguish it. Suckaaas.

On sights

Sunset on North 8th-Brooklyn.

Coney Island, 2008
Aight, aight.

Coney Island

Coney Island, 2008
A Saturday heat wave, no car, and low dough can only mean one thing, Coney Island. This Saturday we hit the beach, drinking 3 dollar corona from the corona guys and swimming in the water, ignoring the candy wrappers and tissue paper floating past us. The whole city was out rocking their finest gear in packs. Good times. On the way out right by the entrance to the cyclone we came across these guys. The girl was slumped over throwing up, as her friends tried to calm her. As I closed in to take the picture, acting as I was on the phone, the guy came up to me and said, "Hey man, you don't need to call for help. She's just drunk and will get up in a few minutes!" If only he knew it would show up on SMASHANDGRAB2000!
Looking forward to the NY summer.

A Good Idea

Lexington and 115th Street, East Harlem NY-June 08
I would say these paintings hold more weight than the ones in Williamsburg posted previously, for obvious reasons. And united against a common front doesn't sound bad either. That whole area is changing fast, and I'm sure things will only continue to heat up as people are slowly pushed out. If only all graff writers had some politizing to do, the world would be a different place.

On Gentrification

Wooden boards surrounding a huge, recently emptied, plot of land intended for condos.
North 9th and Roebling, Williamsburg-June 2008
Yeah, gentrification is no good. Nobody likes neighborhoods turning to condos. But somehow I trust those who painted these have something to do with it. How much were they willing to pay for rent to move into the hood? Then again, Williamsburg shit the can a while ago.

McDonald's on Bedford NOW!

Battle of LIC!

44th Ave and 23rd Street, Queens, June 1, 2008
As I walked over to my friend's Steve's studio Saturday afternoon I spotted this from the corner of my eye. I focused in and saw this seagull eating a dead pigeon. I got close and put the camera phone on max zoom. Needless to say, grainy picture. But it really did happen. I got as close as I could before the seagull flew away. Aint that a bitch, a seagull eating a pigeon.

On a side note. I lost my Razor, my previous picture capturerer. Now I gots a a W490, or whatever that is.
